Activity Name: Learn Something New!
Assign every student to take a 4-week long online course. They can choose the area (art, design, education, music, etc.) of the course. However, the language should be in English. Also, they do not have to pay any fee as many websites offer free online courses. At the end of the 4 weeks, they will give short presentations about the course they took and what they have learned in English.
(For example; a student completes a course about public speaking and shares what he/she have learned with his/her classmates)
Activity Name: Blog It!
Tell students to create an online blog (Blogger, Wix, WordPress, etc.). Then, assign them to share posts about what they have learned besides the school subjects for a whole semester. The language of their posts should be in English. Students' blogs can be followed and commented on every two weeks in the classroom.
(For example; a student learns something new about Japanese culture and shares this information on his/her blog. Peers can post a comment to that post, as well.)
